The Algae Factory conceives and co-develops with partners (food industries) innovative algae based food products tailored to the needs of different market trends and consumers (i.e. vegan, halal, gluten and lactose intolerant). These products have high protein content and are rich in essential nutrients like vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids. Our products are an alternative to animal’s proteins and soy based products. Algae are a great source of proteins, fibers, vitamins, and Omega 3 and 6. They can be easily produced locally and their cultivation has several advantages in comparison to traditional agriculture. The Algae Factory supports the development of Spirulina farms in developing countries as FAO nominated Spirulina a valuable aid to fight malnutrition.
